Charged with delivering CMLC’s robust infrastructure program for East Village and the Rivers District, this highly skilled team of architects, urban planners and project managers draws upon their collective experience in greenfield development, landscape architecture, urban planning and commercial development.


Kate Thompson, Vice President, Development (Architect, AAA, MRAIC)

Kate joined CMLC in January 2013 to lead our Construction & Development division in delivering the master plan vision for East Village and the Rivers District. Currently, she is leading development of the city’s New Central Library, overseeing the project management team while working closely with Calgary Public Library, City of Calgary, project consultants and stakeholders.

A registered member of the Alberta Architects Association (AAA) and active Member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (MRAIC), Kate manages architectural controls for East Village, ensuring all plans for new development align with CMLC’s vision for the neighbourhood.

Kate is a member of the Dean’s Circle of Environmental Design (EVDS) at University of Calgary, where she has been a sessional instructor since 2004. In both teaching and practicing architecture, she continues to highlight the importance of a well-built urban fabric and support projects that strengthen Calgary’s urban spaces.


Carolyn Haddock, Senior Project Manager

Carolyn joined the CMLC team in April 2016 bringing with her a wealth of experience. Carolyn holds a Bachelors of Engineering from Carleton University, is a registered professional engineer, LEED accredited professional and has earned her Project Management Professional (PMP) designation. She has worked on several multimillion dollar projects over her 17 years career with her most recent work being alongside CMLC as the lead Project Manager for the New Central Library in East Village. Previously Carolyn led the development of the Canalta Centre in Medicine Hat ($75 million) and the Life Sciences Research Institute at Dalhousie University, Halifax ($65 million). Her expertise in Project Management is an important asset to the CMLC team.


Jill Huber, P.Eng. Senior Projects Manager

Jill joined CMLC in August 2018 with 15 years of residential land development experience both as an industry leading developer and a reputable consultant. Her passion and enthusiasm for community placemaking, business strategy, and teamwork are an asset to CMLC’s development team and the delivery of their projects.

Jill holds a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Environment Systems Engineering from the University of Regina and has been a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) since 2002. She is a volunteer with BILD Calgary Region and is currently serving her second term as an elected member of the Board of Directors. Jill also serves on the BILD Alberta Board of Directors and their Policy and Practices Advisory Council.


Amber Osadan-Ullman, MCIP, RPP, Project Manager, Development

Amber joined CMLC in April 2014, and brings seven years of land development experience to the team. Amber holds a Bachelor of Arts with High Honours in Regional and Urban Planning from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Policy Studies from Mount Royal University and is a registered professional planner with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP). 

In Amber’s capacity as a Project Manager, she helps to deliver strategic capital projects inside and outside of the Rivers District and manages a wide consultant team.  Through her work experience, she has built a strong foundation of knowledge in placemaking, project management, economic development and land use planning and design. With this experience, Amber has presented at a number of conferences including the Canadian Institute of Transportation Engineers, CIP, and the Alberta Professional Planner Institute.

Prior to joining CMLC, Amber spent four years in not-for-profit and the public sector fundraising and
building community programs for Albertans with Alberta Ballet, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and
the Government of Alberta.


Josh Sartorelli, Project Manager, Development 

Josh joined the CMLC team in May 2013 as a Development Project Coordinator. He holds a Diploma in Architectural Technologies from SAIT and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at University of Calgary. Beyond his role at CMLC, Josh devotes time to curriculum development for the Revit Architecture Program at SAIT. He is also a Guinness World Record Holder for the ‘longest indoor lacrosse game’.


Emily MacDonald, Project Coordinator, Development

Emily joined CMLC's Development team in July 2018 as a Project Coordinator. A born and raised Calgarian, Emily graduated from Mount Royal University in 2014 with a Business Degree, majoring in General Management. She has subsequently worked in the construction industry in multiple capacities, most recently with Cana Utilities as a Project Administrator. Emily's project experience, organizational skills, and communications style are a great asset to CMLC.
